It seems there's a war going on in chat started by Einar and Billy asking to make Randomness and chat different forums. Granted, I'm againstish the idea but if they think it's a good idea, I wanted to see what the site thinks.
Currently the forum piece is called "Chat & Randomness", should it be seperated or the same?

Explain to me what would differentiate the 'Chat' sub-forum from the 'Randomness' sub-forum.
What constitutes a chat sub-forum is your freedom to talk about whatever you want whenever you want, thus making it random, in a sense. Neither of these sub-forums serve a distinctly different purpose, so all you're going end up with is Chat Section No. 1 and Chat Section No. 2, which is a bad idea, because you'll only end up confusing and diluting the chat threads in two different sections of the forum.

Well, I think chat is random. Anyone talks about anything at any given time. Maybe they should just be one forum.

Although I think they are separate in a way, I think its best if we just leave it as it is
Besides, half the time we're trying to be random in our chats, so theres no point
You'll also have people wondering where to put their post for half an hour and end up putting it in the wrong one XD

I agree with Assassin. I know that when they were separate, it was hard to tell which forum was appropriete for the thread I wanted to make.
So I vote to keep them joined.

Answer 1 that is true that you can talk about what you want to talk about, but it is NOT random, for you are talking about one thing, the topic, so you see its really all going acording to the plan in a way,(there for not random!) to be random one must post off topic and every one else must forget about the last topic. until that is done the chat is not random. but if it was really important to someone like if they were considering to take there own life, some one could pop in there thinking this is a random chat so who cares what i post and puts something like, OMGWTFBBQ THATS HOW I MAKE GOOD WAFFLES!! then leaves the poor guy that thinking about taking his own life is going, SEE SEE!! no one cares!! ~going and hangs themselfs~ some of you are going to say, OMG that would never happen!!! I HATE YOU!! 
Next plus if you want to go into deep thought, EVERY THING IS RANDOM!!! no one knows what the other person is thinking there for its random, WRONG! if you take what we are doing here, this is not random, what im puting is not random for you know it has something to with subject and its not random!
Answer 2 the only way you could mistake the two would be if you have dyslexia, and just happen to not be able to read

oh ya its really hard to tell that one is Random and the other is just for Chat. 
all you have to do is read, hell there are a lot of places that are barly differant like maybe one letter differant. than the other like Artwork Show and Members' Favorite/Random Images, ok thats more then one letter differant, however, really come on everyone can tell the differance there, when it more or less the same damn thing. hell i bet Cy and make the words color coated if you wanted it! or if your to damn lazy to take the time to read!

Answer 3 well i answer most of both of your question in Answer 2 but you put time into the question unlike Atlas, i thank him for that, Time well hey look i just spent a good half and hour on typing this thing! who really cares about time! its point less to say time is or is not on are side. but i need to get back to my point. theres a lot of things that you really have to post in something i mean if you post in the wrong place who cares! its as easy as going "my bad hey Cy or the mod of this please move this to this thread", trust me its not hard.

It's basically all the same. Have a gander at any of the chat threads and you'll find that in almost every page someone posts something that was completely irrelevant to what was being previously discussed. You're not restricted to any type of discussion, rambling, randomness, so forth. You're free to create whatever type of randomness thread you wish and post whatever it is you want.

I apologize, but I've no clue as to what you're trying to say. At all. Anyone mind helping me out?
Could someone please provide me with an example (in proper English) of what type of thread would go into the 'Randomness' section to begin with?

I'm sorry, but I'm yet again at a complete loss as to what you're trying to say. Were you saying that I didn't place any thought into my previous post, or – what?
EDIT: Alrighty, I think I managed to understand this bit.
Those are the type of serious threads that you don't normally "chat" about, but rather discuss in asking for advice and guidance. It's a matter you don't want to joke about, so it wouldn't be suited for the chat section to begin with, but rather the Question and Answer Talk or Off-topic section.

I was gonna wait on my vote and see why people sided were and I gotta agree with ATLAS on this, his arguement is actually logical. After thinking a bit on it I voted no, but we'll see what happens.
